"A" list actor, Leonardo DiCaprio has finally won his first Oscar for survival epic The Revenant, after six nominations.

He was named best actor at the 88th Academy Awards, with Brie Larson named best actress Oscar for Room.

Finally, the Supreme Court has certified the convicted General-Overseer of the Christian Praying Assembly, Chukwuemeka Ezeugo, a.k.a Rev. King to die by hanging. 

Vanguard reported that a seven-man panel of justices of the apex court led by Justice Walter Onnoghen in a unanimous judgement today friday February 26,2016 upheld the death sentence that was earlier handed to Ezeugo by the Lagos State High Court. Consequently, the court in its lead verdict that was delivered by Justice Sylvester Ngwuta, dismissed the appeal the convicted clergy lodged before it.

A small plane carrying about 22 passengers on board has gone missing in a mountainous area of western Nepal, officials revealed.

The aircraft, operated by Tara Air was travelling from Pokhara to Jomsom and lost contact with the control tower shortly after taking off.

Two of the passengers are thought to be foreigners. Officials said two children were also on board.

EFCC Arrests Senior Military Personnel at Airport over $2.1bn Arms Purchase Scandal

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arrested a serving senior officer of the Nigerian Air Force in connection with the $2.1bn arms purchase scandal the PUNCH reported. According to the PUNCH, It was learnt that the officer, Air Vice Marshal R.A. 9 Dead, 50 Seriously Injured after Two Trains Colided in Bavaria, Germany

BBC reports two trains involved in a head-on crash that happened near Bad Aibling, a spa town about 60km (37 miles) south-east of Munich today. The trains' operator said both trains had partially derailed and were wedged into each other. Emergency teams, some winched in by helicopter, worked for hours to free casualties from the wreckage. Regional police said in a tweet (in German) that nine people had been killed and 100 injured, 50 of them seriously.
